Production Reflection 4

The duties that I performed this week was being one of the presenters. This means that I would be on the set hosting the show and it was mine and Yanicks job to write the script for the show so that the people in the gallery knew when the Que things in and also we had to decide what out fit and what hair styles we would use for the show. This week everything was successful because everything was finished by the dead lines and the live day went well and when we recorded it we done well and we got good marks. We could of changed the interview with the guests on the live day so we could of made them longer by asking them more questions or having a competition at the end if the interviews. This week I worked well with the team because we all helped each other and if we needed to improve on anything the team would tell us what we should do. Also we was consistently praising each other and giving us motivation which means that we made the best show we could of because we had confidence in each other. I would judge my performance as well because I tried my hardest and when I made a mistake I ignored it and carried on for example I messed up one of my lines but I ignored it and started the line again. Also we had to try and make the show as funny as we could so at different parts of the show we would try and make jokes to keep it entertaining which we managed to do throughout the show.

Costume

Costume

I was going to try a variety of outfits such as casual smart, smart and urban and then I would give my opinions on these outfits and then decide at the end what I liked and also what I didn't like about them then finally I would choose what outfit I would wear for the live day. I chose to do these style of outfits because they related to the age group that the show is aimed towards which is 14-20 year olds.

Outfit 1
This outfit is a white polo top with light blue skinny jeans and white trainers. I chose this outfit because it is a causal smart outfit and it is a out fit which is usually associated with white teenagers. Also the outfit is a smart sort of outfit and would look better because it then it goes with my personality because if i wear urban clothes then it wouldn't go with how I will present the show.

Outfit 2
A second outfit that I thought of was a white shirt with light blue skinny jeans and white trainers. I chose this outfit because it is a casual but smart outfit and also it is a popular outfit which is worn for casual smart occasions. I wouldn't chose this outfit because it is a stereotypical outfit and if people were to see me wear that they would think I was a typical white boy.

Outfit 3
The third outfit that I thought I could wear was a tracksuit I chose this idea because it is a casual outfit and it would fit in with the age group because 14-20 year old wear track suits especially in urban areas so it would relate to the audience.I wouldn't wear this outfit because it is supposed to be a casual smart show and I will present the show in a casual way and it wouldn't be that urbany so it wouldn't fit with how I would act on the show.

Outfit 4
The fourth outfit that I thought of was a t shirt with a hoody jeans and trainers. I liked this outfit because it is a causal outfit and it is a popular outfit but i didn't chose it because the show is meant to be presented with the presenters wearing a casual smart outfit and this is just a casual outfit.

Hair

Hair

There are a few different hair styles I could chose from I will try each of these styles and then write down why I would use this hair style and also why I wouldn't use this hair style, And then at the end I will chose what hair style I am going to use.

Hair Style 1
The first hair style option I have chosen is combed over, I chose to do this hair style because it is a modern hair style which 14-20 year olds have. Also this hair style is quite smart and it doesn't have any sort of things that could make me look a bit dodgy. Also this hair style will go with my outfit because i am wearing a smart outfit and this is a smart outfit so they work well together. I wouldn't chose this hair style because some times it doesn't stay and loosens up so hairs can stick out a bit so it will look funny and weird.

Hair Style 2
The second hair style that I am going to try is my hair fully combed back, I thought I could do this outfit because it is a smart outfit and where I am wearing a smart casual outfit then they would work together because they are the same sort of style. I also have seen people around my age with their hair combed back so it will related more to the audience if they see something that they have.

Hair Style 3
The third hair style I have thought of is having it spiked up like a mow hawk, I have chosen this idea because it is also a popular hair style and also it would go well with one of my outfits because its quite a urban hair style and the out fit is quite urban. I wouldn't chose this hair style because  it looks a bit crazy and it doesn't go well with my personality.

Hair Style 4
The fourth hair style that I thought of is that I wear a snap back and then have it spiked at the front because I would wear the snap back backwards. I chose this hair style because many people wear snap backs around the ages of 14-20 year olds so if I wear it then it would related more to the audience and it could appeal more to them. The reason why I wouldn't wear a hat is because I don't really like hats and they don't really suit me that well.

Production Meeting Reflection 3

This week me and Yanick had to create the script. We had to write out all of the things we would say during the show. We each done equal amounts so i did the first half of the script and Yanick done the second half of  the script. In the script we had to add in all the content ideas and also we had to write if it was pre recorded or live and also how long that part of the show would last for. This week was successful because we managed to finish the script and also the script was up to a good standard. We needed to change the opening sequence around a bit because we was going to start by introducing ourselves bur instead we will do a run down and then we will introduce ourselves. Next week we intend on practising our mode of address so we will try them out and record us doing it and also we decide what clothing we will wear on the day and do this by trying out different outfits. This week me and Yanick worked effectively because we worked on the same thing but we equally split it so that we had the same amount to do and it was fair on both of us. We also worked effectively because when we was writing the script we both had a idea of what was needed to be said so we could help each other out and get the work done faster.

Mode Of Address

Mode Of Address

We will try different mode of addresses such as informal, formal, serious, lively, calmly. We will record these mode of addresses and then chose what type of mode address looks the best and also which mode of address suits the TV show the best and relates the most to the brief. We chose to have 6 different mode of address and then after each address we would say what we thought was good about it but also why we wouldn't use it, We also said where we would use it in the show.

Production Meeting Reflection 2

This week during the production meeting we talked about our running order and that is also when we told Jack what pre recorded things we needed him to record. We told everyone briefly what comes where and who we will need for some of the content or some of the locations. The groups response to our ideas were good because we added many peoples content ideas such as the history of hip hop and also the dance competition. They also liked it because it was a easy set up and isn't a difficult thing to set up and record. This week was mainly successful because i've managed to get what work we needed completed and also have a running order with all of the content in it. Another thing that was successful was that we managed to tell people what they will be needed for for the pre recorded ideas. The thing that we need to develop on would be the timing because we are a bit short for timing so we need to add a few things or extend them a bit to make it up to the 30 minutes which it needs to be. Next week we intend to do the script which will have all the lines for me and Yanick. We had to work with Chloe who is the director and I think that we worked well together because we all put ideas forward and managed to come up with a good running order and also where she is in charge we had to listen to her and that is what we did.

Production Meeting Reflection 1

Week 1

We put tables together to make a big rectangle and then we would all sit around it. We would then take it in turns to present our idea and then at the end of the presentation we would ask questions about their idea such as what if your unique selling point.

The groups response to my idea was that it went well because they liked my content ideas such as having the live studio audience to do a competition on stage and also the top charts section. I voted for Kori's idea because there were good content ideas such as the Skype call ins and the songs that he chose to show in his show. I also liked the presentation and visual style of the show with the presenters because it will be presented to how the target age group would like it to be presented.

Kori's idea relates to the brief because it has 15 minutes of live content, 2 minutes of adverts and it has competitions in it. It also aimed towards 14-20 year old by the way the show is presented and the genres of music used.

The areas that I think need improvement would be the logo because it looks a bit childish because it has a cartoon character on it and also the logo is a arrow which does not really relate to music.

The other ideas that I inputted with Kori's idea is that I would change the name of the show which is Yanicks which is called feel the music and I would also change the logo to Chloe's because i feel that it looks better and it relates more to music. I would also have other peoples content ideas such as a dance competition and interviews that are done on the streets.

Treatment For Multi Camera Music Magazine Show

Program Format

The length of the show is 30 minutes long and this includes two minutes of advertisement and 15 minutes of live content. The genre of my show would be music and it is a music magazine program which would include many things such as guests on the show, music videos , reviews and competitions. The advertisement would be shown half way through the show so it would be 15- 17 minutes in to the show. The live content i would show would be things such as music videos and the charts that week.

Title Of Show

The title for my show would be called 'All Star Music.' I chose this title because it relates to the genre of the show which is music and also it isn't a complicated title so it would be a show title which is easy to recognize. The logo for my show would be a star in the middle which has a music symbol and then the star would be the inside of a circle and then in the circle there would be the title of the show spread out. I chose this logo because it is a simple idea but you can see it is a music show because of the music symbol and then the name of the show because it is written around it and then the star because the title is called All Star Music. The fonts that I could use are All Star Music or All Star Music . I choose these fonts because they are easy to read and they look like modern writing which would appeal to 14-20 year olds. The colors that i would be using or my titles would be yellow for the star because that is a typical color for stars. The color that I would use for the text would be blue because blue and yellow work well together. For the circle around the star I would use red because the three colors put together work well together and also all three colors are colors you see often and used a lot in other shows such as red is the main color for The One Show and also blue and yellow is used frequently in the open sequence of Soccer AM.

Content Ideas

Some of the key features on my show would be a competition, quick fire questions, top ten songs at the moment and new and upcoming songs or artists. For the competition I would have the question to be related to music such as what was Ed Sheerans first album called and then i would have multi choice answers. The quick fire questions would be at the end of the interview and the questions would relate to music such as who sung the song Drunk In Love or which artist is currently going out with Kim Kardashian. Another content idea would be that I would get  guests on the show who could of been the director or producer for the new popular music video and then i would ask them questions about the music video such as how did they think of the idea for the music video and how long did it take to film and also what other artists will he be working with. Another feature that i will add at the end of the show would be where you take someone from the studio audience and then you would get them to introduce themselves and then you would ask them a series of questions and for everyone they answer right they win a prize. I chose these key features because the questions about the other artists are artists who are popular with the age group my show is set towards.

Running order

Introduction- Before you go to the live set you would have a graphic at the start with a title on it saying the name of the show. I would then have a long shot of the set where the presenters would introduce themselves. The next thing they would do would be they will list the top ten songs this week and any new songs who has made it up the charts which is where I would add another of our music videos and say that this new song is making its way up the charts .Then I would have the interview of the director of the new music video. After that I would have a 2 minute break and then when it comes back I would have the music video being shown. Then after the interview and the music video I would then have the competition. At the end of the show is where i would have the competition with a member of the live audience.

Studio Design

The studio design will have three cameras used the first one focuses on the guests the second one is a long shot which has the whole set in it and the third camera focuses on the presenters. the set will have two sofas in it one which the presenters on it and the second one which the guests sit on. I chose this studio design because it is basic and easy to record and you only need three cameras because the presenters and guests sit together.

Sketch Design

My back ground will have two sofas in it one which the presenters will sit at and the other one which the guests would sit at. Then in the back ground I will have the logo of the show. The background of the set will be white because this is a plain color and it does not mix with any of the furniture or images used.

Visual Style

The presenters would be wearing casual smart outfit which would include clothing such as a white shirt, skinny jeans and white trainers. I chose this outfit because this is a very popular outfit which the age group my show is aimed at wears.

Presentation Style

The show would be presented in a informal way but it wouldn't have slang used it just wouldn't have big complicated words in it said in a posh accent.

Multi Camera Job Roles

Camera Operator

Image result for cameraman operator silhouetteThe camera operator is in charge of making sure that the footage is recorded. They also need to make sure that the right shot type and the angle is used when they are recording such as if they were needed to focus on one person in a TV set then would have a close up or a mid shot so that the focus is on them and the audience knows that that is the main area to look out. They are also in charge of keeping hold of the camera, the tripod and the memory card and transporting the equipment around and making sure that it does not get damaged.

Duties

The camera operator has to make sure that the correct footage is filmed in the right way otherwise they might have to record it or they could loose their job because they have not done what they are supposed to do.They also have to make sure that the footage is up to a good standard because if the camera is wobbling or the footage is blurry and not focused where it needs to be then they might need to re record it as well. When recording the camera operator might also need to make adjustments to their filming for example if they were recording a live TV show the director might tell them that they need to move the camera in a certain way and then they would be required to do that to make sure that the footage is correct.

Qualification

You don need to have any qualifications to be a camera man you just need to know the basics such as shot types and how to use a camera and the equipment but if you wanted to go in to TV production you would need qualifications such as HND Diploma in Creative Media Production (Media Moving image) and BA (Hons) Media and Communication

Hierarchy

The people that are in charge of the camera operators would be the director because they need to be told where to have the camera and if they get told by the director to move the camera for example they might need to move it to the left then the camera operator would have to do that because the director is higher in hierarchy. But the camera operator is not in charge of anyone.

Sound Mixer

Image result for sound mixerA sound mixer is in charge of all the sound such as the cast microphones, the music and and SFX. They would use a mixer to make alterations to the sound such as muting the mics when they are not needed or making the music louder or turning it down.

A third duty of a vision mixer is that when they show footage they would need to make sure that it is on for the correct time and also to make sure that if they need to fade the video out they do or if they just need to cut it they do.

Skills

You would need to have a understand of how the vision mixer works and also if there were any faults before or during the production you would need to be able to sort out the problems quickly.
